Big Cycling Day brings BCD M&E employees together from around the world to celebrate two wheels
LONDON – October 14, 2019 – Staff from nearly every BCD Meetings & Events (BCD M&E) office around the world took part in the inaugural Big Cycling Day on, beginning on September 29 through October 6. The initiative was designed to bring people together and highlight the benefits cycling can bring while raising money for local charities. Activities included a beach clean in Kent with a team ride to the beach, a temple tour in Thailand, spin marathons in multiple offices, mountain biking in Arizona and a sponsored “cycle and party” to raise money for an orphanage in Warsaw.
“We have a lot of enthusiastic cyclists across our business,” said Scott Graf, Global President BCD M&E. “The concept of Big Cycling Day was created as a way to connect our people to each other and to a larger cause. It’s a way to encourage spending time with your colleagues, friends and family while doing something that can have an impact on your health and the environment.”
From Argentina to Sydney, via Thailand, to London, up to Oslo and Stockholm and just about everywhere in-between cyclists were clocking up the miles (3,500 logged so far), raising money and doing good for local charities (approx. £5,600 has come in to date) and having fun (more than can ever be measured), all on two and sometimes three wheels.
BCD M&E would like to thank our people for embracing this initiative and our sponsors, Radisson Hotel Group globally and Marriott Hotels in the UK, who supplied cycling goodies and much needed snacks, support and sustenance at the end of our rides.
