A Day in the Life of an Event Professional

At BCD Meetings & Events, our team is dedicated to crafting compelling experiences, whether through engaging visuals or seamless event execution. Join us as we follow a day in the life of two members of our Design & Production team – Evelin Serritos and Lucas Settineri.

9:00 AM – Evelin’s Start

Evelin kicks off her day with breakfast and coffee, checking her inbox for requests and feedback. The nature of her work is dynamic, so she stays connected with her team virtually to navigate any urgent tasks that arise.

8:00 AM – Lucas Prepares for a Meeting

Meanwhile, Lucas starts a bit earlier, preparing for an 8:30 AM meeting with a healthcare client to discuss an upcoming hybrid event. He collaborates closely with the Event Producer to ensure a comprehensive agenda that addresses both in-person and remote participants.

10:00 AM – Motion Graphics Creation

By mid-morning, Evelin dives into her creative work, developing a social media graphic to promote a client’s virtual event. Her role involves crafting animations that enhance the client’s online presence and audience engagement.

Lucas, after his meeting, shifts focus to building out the budget and timeline based on the meeting discussions. This vital step includes addressing logistics for in-person shoots while prioritizing production timelines.

12:00 PM – Midday Breaks

Both Evelin and Lucas understand the importance of taking breaks. Evelin steps outside to enjoy her balcony garden, while Lucas relishes the vibrant food scene in New York, often enjoying lunch outdoors when the weather permits.

1:00 PM – Collaboration and Review

Evelin’s afternoon involves brainstorming sessions with her team to align on graphics that support upcoming events. She values these collaborative moments, knowing they enhance the project outcomes.

Lucas transitions into reviewing customer feedback on a video draft, coordinating with his team to ensure everyone’s creative insights contribute to the final product. Collaboration is key, and he often collaborates with various team members to refine ideas.

3:00 PM – Finalizing Projects

As the afternoon progresses, Evelin tackles multiple motion graphics projects, adjusting to the demands of busy event schedules. Today, she focuses on creating lower thirds for an upcoming show, demonstrating her knack for details and visual storytelling.

Lucas reviews show recordings from a recent event, taking notes on post-event content such as highlight reels and summaries. Post-event debriefs with clients help him ensure all feedback is addressed and valuable lessons are learned for future projects.

5:00 PM – Wrapping Up

Evelin usually wraps up her day around 5 PM, often sneaking in a few more tasks if needed. Cooking dinner, especially for Taco Tuesday, is her preferred way to unwind after work.

Lucas tends to stay a bit longer, especially when onsite for events, ensuring all media elements are properly executed. He finds fulfillment in being part of the creative process from inception to the final presentation.
