Four-Day Itinerary
DAY ONE: After an early morning arrival into Bogotá and a chance to settle in at the Sofitel, you’ll head to a local ranch. Mount aboard a horse for a thrilling ride through the farmlands, getting in touch with your inner ranch hand. In the outskirts of Bogotá stands the spectacular Salt Cathedral, one of the marvels of Colombia; enjoy a private tour in its underground salt mine. The famous steakhouse Andres Carne de Res Chia will host your welcome dinner – arepas and dancing are mandatory
DAY TWO: Full speed ahead; a day for thrill seekers awaits on the Rio Negro, an hour from Bogotá, where white -water rafting and ziplining are on the menu. When you’ve worked up an appetite on the water, enjoy a riverside open -air lunch – and then relax in the area’s natural pool. Spend your evening at La Gaira Café, one of Bogota’s most famous restaurants, owned by Colombia’s most celebrated singer Carlos Vives. The mix of traditional cuisine, colourful ambiance and live music will be a night to remember
DAY THREE: Travel this morning to the white sands of Cartagena; lunch and time to check -in and freshen up will be followed by exploration. Discover the rich history within the city, exploring via bikes and segways. Of course, no trip to Colombia is complete without sampling some of the local specialties; rum tasting and coffee milling await. A Chiva local party bus will whisk you to one of the best dining experiences in the city, Celele (one of Latin America’s Top 50 restaurants), for a 10 – course Caribbean tasting menu.
DAY FOUR: On a private fleet of boats, take part in a sailing regatta and cruise the coast to the Rosario Islands. Enjoy a beach BBQ, then head for a swim in the crystal – clear waters – or if you’re feeling more exploratory, a snorkel, discovering the corals and fish life that inhabit the reefs. In 007 style, cruise back to Cartagena in a convoy of speedboats. Enjoy sunset drinks in the outdoor lounge at Café del Mar – one of Cartagena’s liveliest bars. Then dine in the light and airy ambience of Carmen, a firm favourite with the locals offering the finest Colombian cuisine.
