Evolution of a client relationship, delivering a best in class Strategic Meetings Management Programme
Before the launch of the programme, events were organised by a network of over 700 individuals booking events from offices across the UK. We had been working with the client to improve spend consolidation, with preferred venue programmes and firm-wide terms and conditions, but more was needed. After a competitive tender we were reappointed and immediately began implementing a comprehensive Strategic Meetings Management Programme.
BCD M&E negotiated, implemented and driven a company-wide preferred meeting programme to streamline processes and generate additional savings. We provided our proprietary online booking management tool and used it to engage the booking community with the client’s preferred venue programme and its benefits, enables them to share their venue experiences, and tracks and reports on venue spend.
The target of 60% spend with preferred venues was achieved, and the client won Best Strategic Meetings Management Programme at the ITM Awards. This ten-year relationship continues to be a beacon of best practice, and we have recently implemented a tailored meetings invitation management system that, when combined with venue data, provides a holistic view of all meetings and training activity.
